We’re a growing firm dedicated to helping service-based business owners simplify financial complexities, optimize financial performance, and achieve long-term success. We provide high-level bookkeeping, tax strategy, CFO services, and financial consulting to support our clients’ growth. As we expand, we are looking for an experienced professional who is eager to help build and implement processes, manage teams, and contribute to the firm’s overall growth. With an ambitious goal to grow from 22 to 45 clients this year and double our revenue, we are seeking an Accounting Manager/Controller to take on a leadership role within our firm.

Responsibilities

Firm Growth & Process Improvement

  • Work directly with the founder to scale the firm and implement efficient processes for managing clients and delivering financial services.
  • Develop and optimize internal workflows, procedures, and best practices for bookkeeping, tax services, and CFO offerings.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in financial operations and reporting.
  • Support business development efforts by refining service offerings and contributing to strategic planning.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Manage and mentor the bookkeeping team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and client deliverables.
  • Oversee the tax team, ensuring timely and compliant tax return preparation while providing quality control on tax filings.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated client issues, resolving complex financial concerns.
  • Train and develop team members to improve financial analysis, reporting accuracy, and overall efficiency.

CFO Services & Client Advisory

  • Assist in developing and expanding CFO services for clients, providing high-level financial insights and strategic advice.
  • Review financial reports, including Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheets, ensuring clients understand their financial health.
  • Provide cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy recommendations.
  • Advise clients on financial best practices, tax planning strategies, and operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and strategic decision-making.

Accounting & Tax Oversight

  • Ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all client accounts.
  • Assist in reviewing and understanding tax returns, identifying opportunities for strategic tax planning.
  • Work closely with tax preparers and CPAs to ensure a seamless integration of tax strategies into financial planning.
  • Implement best practices for GAAP compliance and financial reporting standards

Experience & tools

  • CPA preferred or equivalent experience in a U.S.-based accounting firm.
  • QuickBooks Online is required (3 to 5 years of experience using the system).
  • Strong background in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax strategy.
  • Prior experience in managing bookkeeping teams and reviewing work for accuracy.
  • Experience working remotely with a U.S. firm is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and provide CFO-level insights.
